In accordance with the Ministry of Education鈥檚 the 好色tv is providing the following summary of staff activities.

好色tv Elementary P.A. Day: Monday, October 26, 2026

Staff will participate in Human Resources training focused on the safety and well-being of all staff, students, and community members. Topics will include bullying prevention, concussion awareness, mandatory reporting of child abuse, privacy and access training, workplace violence prevention, workplace health and safety, culpable absenteeism for staff, and so on.

Finding the right Secondary School is important for a student鈥檚 academic success and well-being. This fall, 好色tv (好色tv) secondary schools will open their doors so students and families can explore, ask questions and feel confident about the transition to Grade 9.

Who Should Attend?

Grade 8 students and their families are invited to attend the open house at their local 好色tv secondary school and/or a school offering a specialty program of interest to them.

Students in grades 6 to 8 who are living in Georgina and Whitchurch-Stouffville, and their families, are welcome to attend the open houses at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Academy in Keswick and St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Secondary School in Stouffville. Both these schools educate students in grades 7 to 12.

What You Will Discover

好色tv schools promote academic success and well-being in an environment where students feel that they belong. At each open house, attendees will meet school staff and student leaders as they learn about academic programs, graduation requirements, uniforms, the school鈥檚 daily routines and the many ways students can get involved.

Enrolment Caps

Due to high demand for 好色tv secondary education, many 好色tv schools and specialty programs have limited enrolment. In particular, St. Augustine CHS in Markham, St. Robert CHS in Thornhill and St. Theresa of Lisieux CHS in Richmond Hill are capped schools that do not accept students from outside their catchment areas.

2026 Secondary School Open House Dates

There was plenty of excitement at Our Lady of the Lake CA in Keswick on Friday, September 18, 2026, as students and staff welcomed Terry Fox鈥檚 older brother, Fred Fox, to participate in their annual Terry Fox Walk, Run and Roll.

Students filled the gym, eager to meet Fred and hear stories about Terry. Fred shared personal memories of growing up with his brother, giving students a glimpse of Terry not only as a Canadian hero, but as a brother, son, friend and young man whose determination and compassion would inspire the world.

The students were captivated. Smiles, laughter, and more than a few tears filled the room as Fred spoke about the Marathon of Hope and Terry鈥檚 determination to help others while facing cancer himself.

Fred shared how only a handful of people were there when Terry dipped his leg into the Atlantic Ocean in Newfoundland at the beginning of his journey. But as Terry continued running a marathon a day, his story began to spread. By the time he reached Toronto, thousands were coming out to cheer him on.

Several cancer survivors and individuals currently facing cancer also joined the school as special guests, reminding students of the people and families at the heart of Terry鈥檚 mission. Following the presentation, students had the opportunity to meet Fred, take photos, ask questions and line up for his autograph.听

The school community then participated in their annual Walk, Run and Roll, joining Canadians from coast-to-coast in supporting the Terry Fox Foundation in memory of the Marathon of Hope.听

Terry鈥檚 story reflects values that are at the heart of Catholic education: caring for others, serving our communities and using our God-given gifts to make a difference.

Thank you, Fred, for sharing your family鈥檚 story with our students and for helping a new generation understand why Terry鈥檚 legacy means so much.

Across 好色tv, students and staff have been coming together to celebrate Terry Fox Day with Walk, Run and Roll events at our schools. Thank you to everyone who has taken part so far, and best wishes to the schools getting ready to hold their events in the coming weeks!

Every year, these events give our school communities a chance to remember Terry and support a cause that continues to make a difference. Funds raised for the Terry Fox Foundation help support cancer research.

Terry showed us what courage, humility, determination and perseverance can accomplish. His Marathon of Hope began with one young Canadian and grew into a movement that continues to inspire people worldwide.

We are proud to see our school communities come together to carry Terry鈥檚 hope forward and support a cause that touches so many lives. Through the compassion and generosity of our students, staff, families and community members, we put our Catholic virtues into action and show what is possible when we work together for others.听

Wednesday, September 2

In the morning, staff will participate in targeted training on cyber-safety, cyber-security and online privacy to address technology-related risks and ensure student safety.

In the afternoon, all 好色tv staff will participate in our annual Faith Day. This day provides all staff the opportunity to come together as a faith-filled community and focus on adult faith development. School administrators are tasked with facilitating a morning of team-building activities and exercises grounded in our Catholic faith, focusing on tangible and concrete connections to personal faith development.

Thursday, September 3, 2026

Staff will participate in a number of professional development sessions, including:

• Professional learning focused on consistent evaluation and assessment practices and supporting students鈥� transition to secondary school, including effective practices for developing positive learning habits.
• An overview of recently revised curriculum, including kindergarten.
• An introduction to the Supply Ontario鈥檚 vendor of record, the Edwin platform, which will provide provincewide access to digital, consistent, high-quality and curriculum-aligned learning resources.
• Learning activities to become familiar with the LUMI AI tool in the Virtual Learning Environment and the board鈥檚 approved AI tools, as well as how to effectively and safely use those tools with students
• Understanding the standards and required components of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including student strengths and needs, accommodations, modifications and/or alternative expectations, instructional strategies and methods for reviewing student progress.

• Updates to final evaluation, including mandatory written exams, weightings and designated exam period timing, to support consistency in evaluation and assessment practices across courses and schools.
• Professional learning on attendance and participation, with an emphasis on understanding and applying the criteria for the determination of final grades related to attendance and participation.
• An overview of the policy requirements and implementation supports related to the new Financial Literacy Graduation Requirement and financial literacy learning across the curriculum.
• An introduction to the Supply Ontario鈥檚 vendor of record, the Edwin platform, which will provide provincewide access to digital, consistent, high-quality and curriculum-aligned learning resources.
• Learning activities to become familiar with the LUMI AI tool in the Virtual Learning Environment and the board鈥檚 approved AI tools, as well as how to effectively and safely use those tools with students.
• Understanding the standards and required components of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including student strengths and needs, accommodations, modifications and/or alternative expectations, instructional strategies and methods for reviewing student progress.

The 好色tv (好色tv) is pleased to announce its 2026 Top Scholars, the graduating students who had the highest average in their secondary school.

This year, the 好色tv is recognizing 19 outstanding students as Top Scholars, including four students who graduated with perfect 100 per cent averages:

• Sophie Leila Kaci graduated from Father Bressani Catholic High School in Woodbridge, Ont. She wants to make a positive impact on the world, and in September, she will enter the Life Sciences program at the University of Toronto.
• Victoria April Rinaldi also graduated from Father Bressani CHS. She will study in York University鈥檚 Kinesiology and Health Science program, and she hopes to attend dentistry or medical school in the future so she can help others.
• Kaitlyn Tran, who also graduated from Father Bressani CHS, will attend the Health Sciences program at Queen鈥檚 University. She loves science and hopes to be a doctor one day.
• Hong Yi (Eric) Wang graduated from St. Theresa of Lisieux CHS in Richmond Hill, and will attend Yale University, where he will major in both Computer Science and Economics. He hopes to combine his passion for computer science and entrepreneurship to build technology that has a meaningful impact on people鈥檚 lives.

鈥淐ongratulations to the 好色tv鈥檚 Top Scholars and to all of our graduates,鈥� said Jennifer Sarna, 好色tv Interim Chief Executive Officer. 鈥淓very day, the 好色tv鈥檚 staff have the privilege of working with incredible young people who want to use their God-given talents to make the world a better place. These students are wonderful examples of what is possible when a community comes together to support a child鈥檚 education.鈥�

好色tv Top Scholars are the students with the highest average at their secondary school, based on the average of their top six grade 12 courses.

Graduating from secondary school is a massive milestone in a young person’s life. In June, the 好色tv celebrated its newest alumni at graduation ceremonies throughout the board. The 好色tv is proud of all its graduating students and is excited to continue celebrating them throughout their life journeys.
